This is Douglas … Meet Marietta Murton

We celebrate Marietta D. Murton this Hispanic Heritage Month as a trailblazer in the community, a champion for Latino entrepreneurs, and a beacon of leadership. As a Commercial Loan Officer for Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE), Marietta helps break down the financial, cultural, and socio-economic barriers that many Latino-owned businesses face. With nearly two decades of combined experience in the banking industry and non-profit organizations, her expertise has transformed the local business landscape. She’s not just providing capital; she’s empowering entrepreneurs to reach their full potential and achieve sustainable growth.
Originally from Peru, Marietta’s journey to leadership began in Douglas with her career at Bank of America, followed by key roles at Regions Bank and the U.S. Census Bureau, where she contributed to the Hispanic Initiative. Her dedication to community and economic growth has led her to leadership positions with Latino non-profits such as the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA). Today, Marietta’s influence spans multiple spheres, from business to community advocacy.
Beyond her business and financial expertise, Marietta is also an accomplished artist, using her talents to uplift immigrant communities and promote mental health. Marietta’s passion for her Peruvian heritage is evident in her work, which is inspired by ancient Peruvian culture. Her “Homage to My Heritage” collection, showcased at Balboa Park’s House of Peru, highlights intricate jewelry designs emulating Peruvian craftsmanship.
Marietta’s multifaceted career reflects her commitment to the community. Whether empowering entrepreneurs, promoting cultural awareness, or supporting local non-profits, Marietta’s dedication to community service is truly inspiring.
This is Marietta D. Murton. And THIS… is Douglas.
