Overview

Federal Advocacy

Your Chamber is laser-focused on creating long-lasting relationships with our leadership on a federal level. We intentionally engage with Federal elected officials in a focused setting to convey the Chamber's purpose/activity and gain their feedback relative to their constituency.

Our Federal Priorities

Each year, the Washington DC Fly-In takes community leaders in Douglas to meet as a group with our elected officials and is held in conjunction with the Georgia Chamber’s Fly-In. During the 48-hour trip, attendees meet with U.S. Senators and Congressman as well as U.S. Chamber representatives to discuss recent updates on fiscal, transportation, small business, and healthcare policy.

Douglasville Goodwill Career Center Collaboration

In less than 72 hours, over 100 of our local businesses and community partners signed onto a letter of support for a new Douglasville Goodwill Career Center. The Career Center aims to serve as the workforce hub in Douglas and will be a partnership between Goodwill of North Georgia, West Georgia Technical College, and many other community partners.

This letter will be included in applications for Congressional District Spending via Senator Warnock and Senator Ossoff’s offices. This simple commitment from our membership showcases the true heart of our community and is why I continue to say that Douglas is where partnerships and business THRIVE.
