Local Business and Community Leaders Visit State Delegation for Douglas County Day at the Capitol
The Douglas County Chamber, City of Douglasville and Douglas County Government collaborated to plan this year’s Douglas County Day at the Capitol sponsored by Georgia Power Company. The group community leaders met with Douglas County representatives on Wednesday, February 28th to discuss legislative priorities for the community.
This was a great Day at the Capitol for Douglas County, as community leaders came together at the Capitol to advocate for the best interest of our community. They have effectively represented the diverse needs and priorities of our community. By working together, they demonstrate their commitment to Douglas County and continue to pave the way for a brighter future for all businesses and residents.
The group attended meetings with members of Douglas County’s delegation including, Senator Donzella James, Representative Kimberly Alexander, Representative Kimberly New, Representative Mandisha Thomas, Senator Matt Brass, Mayor Rochelle Robinson, Representative Roger Bruce, and Senator Tim Bearden. During the meetings, the group was informed of updates on legislative committees and legislature items that were currently being discussed.
Douglas County Chamber President & CEO, Sara Ray, commented “The Douglas County Chamber is grateful to the community and business leaders who took time to advocate for our community’s needs at the State Capitol. Their commitment to advancing Douglas County and actively participating in discussions with elected officials reflects dedication to our community’s welfare and economic growth, reaffirming our commitment to fostering an environment where partnerships and businesses thrive.”
