FEBRUARY PROCLAIMED AS ARTS, CULTURE, AND HUMANITIES MONTH
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners proclaimed the month of February as Douglas County Arts, Culture, and Humanities month at the Board of Commission meeting on February 6, 2018.
The proclamation presented by Lisa Doney stated the impact and significance of the creative culture in the Douglas County community. Arts, culture, and humanities embody much of the accumulated wisdom, enrich the lives of the citizens, and play a unique role in the county’s economy which drives tourism and commerce.
Throughout the month of February, the Douglas County Creative Economic Alliance has scheduled a variety of events to celebrate the proclamation. On February 13, 2018, there will be a Celebration of Douglas County Arts, Culture, and Humanities Forum at the Douglasville Conference Center, 6700 Church Street, Douglasville, Georgia. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. The program will include a panel discussion, performances, and awards for members of the community who have made substantial contributions. Members of the DCCEA will also provide information about their organizations to the audience. For the complete list of scheduled events, go to the Douglas County Creative Economic Alliance website at https://www.dccreativealliance.com/.
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners encourages citizens to engage in the Douglas County Arts, Culture, and Humanities Month through participation and taking action to become a part of the artistic community that has been established.
