Douglas County Chamber Announces Leadership Douglas Class of 2026 Graduates

DOUGLASVILLE (May 21, 2026) – The Douglas County Chamber proudly announces the graduation of the Leadership Douglas Class of 2026. A celebration was held on May 13th at the Riverside EpiCenter to honor the 26 outstanding individuals who completed the immersive eleven-month program focused on leadership growth and civic engagement. The graduates were led by co-chairs Kiondre Dunnam (LD Class of 2024) from Brighten Academy Charter School and Carly Carros (LD Class of 2022) from the Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority.
Throughout the program, the group participated in a variety of activities including presentations, one-of-a-kind experiences, and fostered an environment of dialogue to drive an even stronger community. Additionally, the class gained an in-depth look into community assets such as Economic Development, Infrastructure, Public Safety and Administration, Criminal Justice, Community Awareness, Education and Workforce Development, Quality of Life, Nonprofits and Systemic Change. Participants interacted with current community and business leaders, gaining contacts and a comprehensive understanding of the community.
In addition to their monthly sessions, the Leadership Douglas Class of 2026 completed a service project that created a meaningful impact across the community. “We are incredibly proud of what the Leadership Douglas Class of 2026 accomplished with our time and talents,” said Allison Curtis and Troy Parker, class project leaders. “The Class of ’26 raised funds to cover two months of educational experiences for youth through Beyond the Front Porch and acquired $1,000 worth of donations to support the Cultural Arts Center. The Class of ’26 also contributed over 1,500 volunteer hours in the community. This included assistance to food banks, youth organizations and events, cultural events, and a variety of service and resource-based organizations. These contributions reflect the passion, generosity, and commitment this group brought to creating brighter futures across our community.”
LD Co-Chairs, Kiondre Dunnam and Carly Carros, commented “We truly enjoyed the opportunity to be a co-chair for the 2026 class of Leadership Douglas. As co-chairs, we’ve been through the program before, but it’s amazing to see how—while the core topics stay the same—the happenings of our community are ever-evolving. It’s also wonderful to see different local leaders experience Douglas County through a new lens. It truly is an incredible place, and Leadership Douglas is an awesome experience.”
President and CEO, Sara Ray, commented “The Leadership Douglas Class of 2026 demonstrated an incredible commitment to service, collaboration, and community leadership throughout this program. We are proud to celebrate their accomplishments and look forward to seeing how they continue to lead and serve throughout Douglas County.”
