Chapel Hill High School Band to Host Free Concert

IMG_8000As the weather turns cool and we transition into fall, what’s better than dinner and a show presented by a marching band?

The Chapel Hill High School Panther Band will host a free performance for the community on Monday, September 25, 6:30 p.m., at Panther Stadium, 4899 Chapel Hill Road, Douglasville. The performance will include performances from the CHHS Cheerleaders, ROTC Color Guard, and selections from the band’s 2017 competitive program “World of Wonder: The Music of Stevie Wonder.” This event will mark the last home performance before the competitive band season begins.

“Since I took the position as Director of Bands at Chapel Hill High School this year, I’ve been committed to continuing the process of building a better band here at Chapel Hill,” said Nick Viviano. “I feel strongly that giving back to and working with the Douglas County community is a vital part of our mission.”

Donations will be accepted at the event to fund relief efforts for the hurricane victims in south Georgia and Florida. All of the donated funds will be used to purchase supplies for “Buckets of Care for Flood Victims,” a project supported by all schools in Douglas County. The buckets of supplies will be used by volunteers and homeowners to “mud out” homes that have been flooded. Audience members may purchase dinner from Chick-fil-A at the event, and a portion of the proceeds from food purchases will also go toward the “Buckets of Care” fund.
