New! U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation LaunchesCivic Time Off Program

Our American democracy depends on active and engaged participants at every level, from doing our civic duty when we are called for jury duty – to voting in our elections. Robust civic engagement helps ensure the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy as Americans. The big picture: To encourage volunteerism in the infrastructure of our democracy, the U.S. Chamber Foundation developed “Civic Time Off” to encourage employers to offer employees paid time off to participate in non-partisan election support activities (poll workers, Judges of Election, other non-partisan election support roles, etc.). In doing so, employers will make it easier for employees to serve in these critical roles and provide a mechanism for participants to share their experiences with their fellow employees. Learn more: Please contact Jenna Shrove at jshrove@uschamber.com.
