Douglas County Chamber to Host Inaugural Public Safety Week June 15-18

Douglasville, GA (June 12, 2026)
The Douglas County Chamber and Douglas County Chamber Foundation are proud to announce the inaugural Public Safety Week, presented by Ralin, taking place June 15-18, 2026. This week-long initiative will celebrate, recognize, and strengthen connections with the public safety professionals who serve and protect our community every day.

Throughout the week, community members, business leaders, and elected officials will have opportunities to engage with local public safety agencies through educational experiences, volunteer opportunities, blood drives, and special events designed to increase awareness and appreciation for the critical work performed by first responders and public safety personnel.

“We are grateful to Ralin for stepping forward as the presenting sponsor of Public Safety Week,” said Sara Ray, President & CEO of the Douglas County Chamber. “Their investment demonstrates a commitment to recognizing the individuals and agencies who work around the clock to keep our community safe.”

Participating organizations include the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County E-911, Douglas County Fire/EMS, Douglasville Police Department, Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, American Red Cross, West Georgia Technical College, and other community partners.

A highlight of the week will be the Chamber’s Insight Exchange Luncheon, “Heroes Beyond the Badge: Strengthening Community Response & Resilience,” on Tuesday, June 17. The program will highlight the people and partnerships that support public safety throughout our community. Attendees will hear from the American Red Cross on how businesses and individuals can prepare, respond, and give back when it matters most, while learning how public safety agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community partners work together to strengthen community resilience.

“Public Safety Week is an opportunity to go beyond simply saying thank you,” said Ray. “We want our community to better understand the challenges, responsibilities, and partnerships that keep Douglas County safe while also creating meaningful opportunities to support those who serve.”

Additional activities throughout the week include public safety pop-up experiences, community engagement opportunities, blood drives, service projects benefiting local public safety agencies, and a community conversation focused on preparedness and resilience.

The Chamber is encouraging businesses, community organizations, and residents to participate by attending events, donating supplies, volunteering, or simply taking time to recognize the public safety professionals who make a difference every day.
