RECAP: Chamber Hosts Focus Groups for Community Branding Iniative
Douglasville and Douglas County have become a destination rich with opportunity. As our community benefits from those opportunities, it has become increasingly important to create a unified vision and road map for long-term initiatives to ensure Douglasville and Douglas County reach their full potential. To that end, the Chamber is leading a partnership with other community leaders to create a community wide brand.
The Chamber has contracted with Development Counsellors International (DCI), a specialized place-marketing agency, to develop a new brand and marketing strategy to attract jobs and investment, as well as new residents and a skilled workforce to our entire community. As a first step, 8 focus groups were held at the Chamber on January 18-19 for resident input that will inform the development of the brand and strategy to leverage community strengths, and help address specific challenges. More than 100 residents participated, and the majority were people who have never before been involved in their community.
This community branding initiative is led by a brand steering committee made up of Chamber members and will be complete by July 1.
