Local Child Advocates Win Outstanding Agency Award

Children’s Voice: CASA, Inc. was awarded thcasae Outstanding Agency Award at the Georgia Conference on Children and Families in Marietta at the annual awards luncheon last month. This prestigious award was presented to Children’s Voice: CASA, Inc.’s Executive Director, Katy Klein, by Georgia CASA’s Executive Director, Duaine Hathaway.

Mr. Hathaway, was quoted as saying, “Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers stay with children until they are placed in loving permanent homes. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer is the only constant adult presence in their lives. They exist to raise awareness of foster children and bring positive, permanent change to their lives”. Children’s Voice: CASA, Inc. was chosen for this award for their tireless advocacy work and their dedication to the foster children of Douglas County.

 

The Georgia Conference on Children and Families is the largest annual interdisciplinary event in Georgia designed to bring together the community that serves children and families. The conference featured specialized tracks, plenary sessions and networking opportunities with the goal of improving outcomes for the children and families.

 

Children’s Voice: CASA, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that works within the Juvenile Court of Douglas County to provide a CASA volunteer to every foster child. The CASA program is central to fulfilling society’s most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect and to learn and grow in the safe embrace of a loving family.
