DSC_0047The Douglas County Chamber is pleased to announce the 24 graduating members of the Leadership Douglas Class of 2016.  The Class of 2016 graduated on May 17th in a ceremony held during the GreyStone Power Luncheon sponsored by Google.

Leadership Douglas is a program of the Douglas County Chamber Foundation. The graduates, led by co-chairs Jennifer Moore and Daniel Manny, included a group of diverse and unique individuals from businesses and organizations in Douglas County who made it their goal over the last year to enhance their leadership skills and community involvement for the betterment of all citizens, businesses, organizations and governments in Douglas County.

Throughout the ten month program, students participated in a variety of activities including presentations, discussions, work sessions, and other activities on ten different topics including water resources, government, health and wellness, arts and culture, public safety, education, government and social services. Participants met and interacted with current community and business leaders throughout the year, gaining contacts and an in-depth understanding of the community.

In addition to the monthly educational classes, the Class of 2016 took time to give back to the community and the group completed two successful class service projects. The class hosted a Veterans Breakfast for those who have served in the Armed Forces and held a Bone Marrow Registry Drive for the community.
