 Douglas County Chamber Foundation Youth Leadership Scholarship Applications Being Accepted.

The Douglas County Chamber is pleased to offer two scholarship opportunities for deserving graduating high school seniors from Douglas County schools. Scholarships valued at $1,000 and $500 will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities.

The Douglas County Chamber Foundation presents the Chamber Leadership Scholarships annually and the Chamber Board Scholarship funded by the Chamber Board of Directors to two high school seniors from Douglas County. To qualify, applicants must be graduating seniors residing in Douglas County with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. They must plan to attend an institution of higher learning and have shown leadership experience through school, community activities, or work. Additionally, applicants must submit two recommendation letters—one from a school representative and another from a member of the business community—and write a 500-word essay on a leader they admire and the leadership qualities they exemplify.

“We are excited provide leadership scholarships for high school seniors in our community as a way of recognizing and rewarding the hard work these students put forth during their academic career ” said President & CEO, Sara Ray.

Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 6th, 2024. Recipients of this scholarship will be notified via email, and the award presentation will take place during the State of Education Luncheon on June 12th, 2024.
