Douglas County Chamber Announces the Top Ten Young Professionals of 2021

Advancing Modern Professionals in Douglas (AMP’D), a program of the Douglas County Chamber, is pleased to announce its Top Ten Young Professionals of 2021.  The Top Ten Young Professionals of the Year is an annual recognition of young professionals in Douglasville and Douglas County who embody the mission and vision of AMP’D. The recognition ceremony was held at the Douglasville Conference Center on Wednesday, September 15th.

The mission of AMP’D is to attract emerging professionals to engage, develop, and serve in Douglas County. AMP’D hosts annual events including the Politics Power Breakfast, Cornhole Tournament, bi-monthly volunteer opportunities and professional development seminars. AMP’D funds both the annual Foundation Leadership Scholarship for high school seniors and the Continuing Education Scholarship for young professionals to further their education.

This year the Top Ten Young Professional Awards, AMP’D received over 20 applications. Each applicant completed a thorough application covering company information, community involvement, business achievements, and leadership. An independent panel of judges composed of business professionals from across the nation reviewed the applications, submitted their findings to make the selections.

Chris Bass, Age 33

Douglasville Parks and Recreation

Chris is the Assistant Director for the Douglasville Parks and Recreation. He has taken programming operations to new heights by developing innovative programs and events that benefit the city. His dedication is unmatched and challenges other professionals to demonstrate the same passion. Chris is a mentor in his community and to other recreation professionals.

Zachary Bush, Age 35
Wellstar Douglas Hospital

Zachary is the Clinical Pharmacy Manager at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. Upon graduation from Haralson County High School and the University of West Georgia, he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University in 2012. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Christian Council and is Executive Director of their medical clinic.

Adam Elrod, Age 32
GreyStone Power Corporation

Adam is the Brand Strategist for GreyStone Power Corporation. He is nationally known for his work in customer satisfaction and digital communications. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University and is a Certified Cooperative Communicator. Elrod resides in Cedartown with his wife, Blair, and their son, Truett.

Rachel Franklin, Age 38
Cobb & Douglas Public Health

Rachel is the Cobb & Douglas Public Health Epidemiology Director, overseeing the Acute Disease/STI Epidemiology and Tuberculosis programs. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she has led the district’s epidemiology response. Rachel received her MPH degree in Epidemiology/ International Health at UAB and has worked in public health for 12 years.

Senora James, Age 39
Wellstar Douglas Hospital

Senora has served as the Director of Nursing at Wellstar Douglas Hospital since May 2019. She achieved her Nurse Executive-Advanced Board of certification in April 2021. Being a board-certified nurse executive signifies Senora’s commitment to excellence and providing the best health outcomes and experience to patients and community.

Emily Lightner, Age 34

Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County

Emily is the Executive Director for the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/ Douglas County. She is passionate about advocating and supporting the arts while communicating the economic impact it has on the community. Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their two daughters.

Ben Marlow, Age 34
Ben Marlow Allstate Insurance

Ben is a fourth-generation small business owner at Allstate Insurance.

He takes every opportunity to give back to causes which includes the Boys and Girls Club, Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus, S.H.A.R.E. House, and Woodie Fite Senior Center. Ben enjoys spending time with

his wife, daughter, and their three dogs.

Abbey Morgan, Age 22
Douglasville-Douglas County Water & Sewer Authority

Abbey is the Engineering Technician in stormwater design for the Douglasville-Douglas Water and Sewer Authority. She holds two associates degrees in Information Technology and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Kennesaw State University. She’s passionate about serving her community and protecting the environment.

Tanish Springer, Age 34
Douglas County School System

Tanish is the Assistant Principal of Holly Springs Elementary. In 2019, she earned an E.Ds. from Piedmont University in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Springer achieved a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. Additionally, she holds certifications in Gifted, ESOL, and Leadership.

Dr. Tiffany Weaver, Age 37
Douglas County School System

Tiffany is the Principal at Mason Creek Middle School. She is passionate about serving in public education and has been described as one of the most competitive principals around. Dr. Weaver is never satisfied with

the status quo and has high expectations for herself and those around her.
