DOUGLAS COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL REDUCES KITTEN ADOPTION FEES BY 50% FOR JULY
Thank you to the Douglas County Board of Commissioners office for the content.
Affordable adoption offer for the month of July also includes free spay or neuter
Douglas County Animal Control is making it extremely affordable to add an adorable new member to your family in July by temporarily reducing their standard $35 adoption fee in half to $17.50 for all kittens in their shelter. In addition to the reduced cost of adoption, the half price fee also includes spay or neuter for all the kittens who go to a new home. The free spay for the female kittens or neuter for the males will be available at one of the two LifeLine Animal Project Spay & Neuter Clinics.
“Each spring during kitten season, the Douglas shelter overflows with kittens,” says Susan Feingold, Animal Control Manager. “This year we are taking in even more kittens than usual and have over 100 adorable kittens at our small shelter. Therefore, we are reducing our fees and offering a free spay/neuter with the adoption in the hopes that all of the kittens will find a home.”
All adoption fees are payable by cash or check and a certificate for the free spay or neuter will be issued at the time the kitten or kittens are adopted.
Douglas County Animal Control is located at 1755 County Services Road (formerly Humane Society Blvd), Douglasville, GA 30134. The shelter is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. (adoption selections must be made by 4:30). The shelter is closed on Mondays. The Shelter phone number is 770.942.5961.
