DC Chamber Youth Leadership Douglas Summer Class Graduates

yld-2016-summer-gradsThe Douglas County Chamber is pleased to announce the graduating students from the Youth Leadership Douglas Summer Program. These students are juniors that participated from all five Douglas County high schools and that are homeschooled.

During the eight week program, students participated in activities designed to help them acquire and broaden their knowledge of not only social and business etiquette but also of local government, business and civic activities. They visited public safety buildings, learned about the history and culture, toured the Water and Sewer Authority, and also developed individual leadership skills.

Sara Ray, Douglas County Chamber Director of Communications and Community Affairs, commented “our Chamber members and myself enjoyed working with this great group of young people, and feel that Youth Leadership Douglas is an important part in helping develop future leaders of our community through this program.”

Graduating students include: Jaylin Billings, John Buterbaugh, Ivy Cochran, Myles Davis, Tierra Gilchrist, Sidney Johnson, Kaleb Mack, Joshua Mack, Latybee Nelson, Jackie Nemanich, and Jacob Womack.
