DC Chamber to Host Minority Business & Leadership Event Featuring United Way of Greater Atlanta Vice President

The Douglas County Chamber is pleased to announce the continuation of the Minority Business and Leadership Breakfasts series. These quarterly events are designed to bring minority business owners and corporate professionals together to hear about the latest programs and initiatives for minority-owned businesses, but also to be inspired and hear from leaders in the region on their leadership styles. The series is presented by GreyStone Power Corporation.

The next installment of the series discussing reshaping the lens of equity will be on June 10th at the Douglasville Conference Center with keynote speaker Ginneh Baugh, Vice President of Strategy and Knowledge Development at United Way Greater Atlanta. Ginneh is from Decatur and has a long history of working and volunteering with nonprofits here. Her career has focused on program planning, evaluation and learning and knowledge development for health and human service organizations. She has a personal commitment and a professional belief that data should be accessible and useful. She has been a driving force behind the development of the Child Well-being Index and using data as a catalyst for a broader social movement. Ginneh has also previously worked as the Senior Evaluation Associate for United Way of Central Maryland, in Baltimore, MD. In Baltimore, she led the Outcomes Measurement Initiative, which included developing programs to better monitor grants, and training agencies to improve evaluation processes.

Chamber President and CEO, Sara Ray, commented, “The Chamber’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee has been hard at work over the past 18 months focused on providing relevant programming that meets the needs of all businesses in Douglas County. The creation of the Minority Business & Leadership Event Series is to provide an outlet to share resources and inspiration with our minority-owned businesses. I look forward to hearing from Ms. Baugh as she shares how we are all instrumental in shaping equity in the workplace and our communities.”
