DC Chamber to Host Women in Business Event Showcasing Unbreakable Community Leaders
The Douglas County Chamber is pleased to announce its newest event series—the Women in Business Breakfast. These quarterly events are designed to bring women business owners and corporate professionals together to hear about the latest programs and initiatives for women-owned businesses, but also to be inspired and hear from leaders in the region on their leadership styles. The series is presented by Ameriprise Financial – Patti H. Puckett.
The series will kick-off on May 27th at the Douglasville Conference Center featuring stories of unbreakable leadership from two women who have powered through life’s challenges and come out on top, Patty Wenck of Wenck Travel and Marigold Edwards of JC Freedom House. The discussion will highlight women who embody what it means to have a drive to keep going, moving through tough challenges, and persevering towards overcoming obstacles. The discussion will be moderated by DC Chamber Board Chair-Elect, Tonya Jackson. Jackson brings over 20 years of leadership and management experience to the dialogue.
Wenck exerts her business acumen as a results-driven travel professional who is passionate about being a resource to her community and beyond. She is a servant leader who is committed to equipping clients with the tools and knowledge to enjoy fun, stress-free, safe, and healthy travel. Patty is an authority on travel and home health products and an effective, trusted leader. She accomplishes these titles by passionately and creatively, implementing her out of the box thinking as a travel trendsetter who is others-focused, which ultimately impacts the clients and the communities she serves positively.
Edwards has over 20 years’ experience in learning and development, business, and financial management, and is an accredited professor and CPA. She has led projects in a wide range of organizations across four continents. She is passionate about her current role as Founder and CEO of JC Freedom House, shelter for women in crisis and the positive impact it has and will have on thousands of lives.
Chamber President and CEO, Sara Ray, commented, “Providing an environment filled with shared experiences and stories of inspiration is a top priority for the Chamber this year. Empowering women and celebrating Patty and Marigold’s success will be a wonderful treat for all attendees. I look forward to hearing their stories!”.
