High Schools Hold Information Sessions on Magnet Programs

2016-17 Magnet Selection Process Chart with Dates

Magnet Update Presentation

All five high schools in Douglas County will hold informational meetings about their magnet programs during October and November. Current 8th grade students and their parents are encouraged to attend these meetings as well as 6th and 7th grade students and parents who want to plan ahead for high school.

Meetings are as follows:

  • Thursday, October 27, 6 pm, Lithia Springs High School: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
  • Tuesday, November 1, 6:30 pm, Douglas County High School: International Baccalaureate
  • Thursday, November 3, 6 pm, Chapel Hill High School: Advanced Placement
  • Wednesday, November 9, 6:30 pm, New Manchester High School: Fine Arts
  • Thursday, November 10, 6:30 pm, Alexander High School: Liberal Arts College Prep/AP Capstone

    The deadline for current 8th grade students to apply for magnet programs at the high schools is Monday, December 12.

    For students interested in attending the full day College and Career Academy, the informational meeting will be Thursday, November 10, 6 pm, at the CCI, 4600 Timber Ridge Drive, Building D.
