Our hearts go out to the Mobley family in light of this great tragedy

VILLA RICA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) –

A Villa Rica jewelry store owner was shot and killed during a robbery Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. at The Mobley Company Jewelers Inc., which is located in a strip mall on Carrollton Villa Rica Highway.

Police have not identified the victim, but the family said Mitch Mobley was shot and killed when four or five men robbed the store.

Police said one of the men is in custody.

The website for the jewelry store said the victim founded The Mobley Company Jewelers Inc. in 1990 along with his wife Tammy J. Mobley.

The store is a family business and the couple’s children worked in the store.
