WellStar Named to Working Mother Best Companies
Thanks to WellStar for contributing:
MARIETTA, Ga. (Sept. 18, 2012) – Working Mother today named WellStar Health System as one of the 2012 Working Mother 100 Best Companies. The companies are recognized in the October/November issue of the magazine, on workingmother.com and will be honored at the Work Life Congress, to be held here on October 8th. This makes five years for WellStar to place on the list and the third year to be recognized among the coveted Top Ten companies.
Working Mother rewarded companies for their wide array of progressive workplace programs, including child care, flexibility, advancement and paid family leave. This is the 27th year Working Mother has recognized organizations for their initiatives.
“WellStar is honored to be named a Working Mother 100 Best Companies Top 10 company for the third straight year,” said David Anderson, executive vice president of human resources, organizational learning & chief compliance officer for WellStar Health System. “Part of the formula for delivering world-class healthcare is having world class employees. To attract and retain these talented team members, WellStar offers competitive salaries, outstanding benefits and innovative work/life programs.”
Some of the other companies who were awarded recognition are: Bank of America, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, General Mills, Grant Thornton, IBM, KPMG Procter & Gamble and PwC.
“This year’s 100 Best Companies are leading the way for the rest of the nation,” said Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media. “They have created not only essential benefits, like flexible work options and telecommuting, but have also shown their commitment in new ways like elder care referral and legal assistance to help busy parents manage their personal lives as well as their careers.”
“These Best Companies know what it takes to keep all employees, but especially their employee moms, productive and engaged at work,” said Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media. “As the stress surrounding work-life integration continues to rise, so does the opportunity for creating a win-win environment for employees and employers. The Working Mother 100 Best Companies see the payoff from their programs and policies and are outstanding examples for companies to emulate.”
All of the winners will be recognized at the Working Mother 100 Best Companies Gala Awards Dinner on October 10th at the Marriott Marquis in NYC. The event is part of the Work Life Congress annual conference held from October 8th -10th.
