Community Leaders Visit Durham, NC for Strategic Leadership Visit

DOUGLASVILLE (May 3, 2023) – Recently, The Douglas County Chamber’s 2023 Strategic Leadership Visit brought 30 Douglas County professionals to tour the Research Triangle Park (RTP) region and experience the successes and challenges of another metro area. The trip was presented by the Georgia Power Company April 24-27^th.

During the trip, the group visited Research Triangle Park and Durham, and were presented with the opportunity for to meet with peers in a like-minded community to learn best practices in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurism, targeted economic development, infrastructure, workforce and talent development, housing, and more.

They spent three days learning about how RTP and Durham have become a top-rated community and returned home with best practices as Douglas moves forward implementing the Douglas County Chamber Strategic Plan. The group met with City and County leaders, Chamber, economic development, and tourism leaders as well as private business owners, downtown investment partners, and community advocates driving growth and change. The group immersed themselves in the community by visiting local eateries and touring facilities for a full experience of what makes Durham and RTP a truly collaborative community.
