Youth Leadership Douglas gives high school students the opportunity to acquire and broaden their knowledge of not only social & business etiquette but also of local government, business and civic activities through a 4 month leadership program.
The program has been recently redeveloped and will provide students with personal and professional development opportunities that cater to each individual. The program will allow students to embrace the changes of technology by submitting their assignments through various social media outlets and also to select their assignments based on their personal interests.
Youth Leadership Douglas has an spring deadline for application, and applications must be submitted to their local HS counselor. The program will consist of a Fall and Spring session. The Fall class will begin its new program in August and end in December while the spring class run from January to April of 2013.
Rising juniors from each Douglas County high school (both public and private) are eligible. These students will then be interviewed by the YLD Program Coordinators. Students must apply and qualify through an application and interview process, which is under the direction of the individual school. There will a maximum of 15 students selected for each session.
