The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its newest member of the 2012 Chairmans Club: Jason Wellman, Manager at Google’s Douglas County data center. The mission of the Chairman’s Club is to convene community-minded, senior level business people to be visionaries for the Chamber and a voice for business in our community.
Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Jason first started with Google in 2005 and is currently responsible for managing the infrastructure operations of the Douglas County Google data center, which supports Google’s broad range of product and service offerings. Prior to Google, Wellman worked for an interactive advertising agency in Dallas, Texas where he built and operated a hosting operation for agency clients.
“We are thrilled to have Google in our community as a business partner, community advocate and of course a Chamber member,” commented DC Chamber President & CEO Kali Boatright. “Google has made wonderful contributions to Douglasville in the past year, not only through the Chamber but the school system, local businesses and Douglas County as a whole, for which I think I can speak on behalf of all of Douglas County in that we are very grateful.”
The Chairman’s Club represents businesses and individuals who have chosen to go the extra mile in their support for the Chamber and its mission; they do so because they believe that the voice of business must be heard. They are also leaders who invest time and money toward the job creation, quality of life, workforce development and marketing goals of the community. These top decision-makers develop valuable relationships among key business and political leaders and lend expertise on issues critical to their corporate goals and to the community’s growth and development.
