Go Build Douglas Scholarship

DSCF9091The Workforce Development Committee, a committee of the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce and Chaired by Breezy Straton of the Douglas County Economic Development Authority recently awarded six college scholarships to deserving Douglas County School System high school seniors who will be pursuing college programs in STEAM² related fields (STEAM² stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, and Mathematics). The committee awarded one $1500 Gold Scholarship and five $500 scholarships. The scholarship winners are listed below:

  • $1500 Gold Scholarship winner – Jeffrey Fitz from Douglas County High School
  • $500 Scholarship Winners:
    • Caleb Cook from Chapel Hill High School
    • Taylor Jones from Alexander High School
    • Timon Wood from Lithia Springs High School
    • Tulsi Patel from Douglas County High School
    • Damilola Oke from New Manchester High School

 

These scholarships would not be possible without the support of the industry sponsors; Georgia Power, the Douglas County Economic Development Authority, Haralson Metals, Ben Hill Roofing, DeNyse Companies, Hughes-Ray Company, and Garrett and Rega, Inc.
