The Douglas County Chamber, Douglas County School System, and Brighten Academy invited business leaders, parents and community leaders to spend a day in the life of a Douglas County teacher during this year’s Teacher 4 A Day program. The program will take place on March 27th. This program allows members of the business community to visit one of the 36 schools in Douglas County or Brighten Academy to shadow a teacher for a half day.
“Teacher 4 A Day” is a program adopted by the Douglas County School System and the Douglas County Chamber in 2011. School teachers from each grade will be paired with a local member of the community who will experience a typical day in the teacher’s shoes. Participants will not be placed in their child’s classroom.
Guest teachers will be exposed to the many exciting programs offered in our schools as well as gaining first-hand insight into the challenges that schools face on a daily basis. “We feel it is highly important for members of our community to see what goes on in our schools,” commented Boatright, “many of our members, like myself, have children in the school system, and this is a great way to see what happens after the first bell. The Chamber is proud to support this program and is looking forward to sending our community back to school!”
Applications are due March 13, 2018 and are available through the Board of Education office or the Douglas County Chamber website at www.douglascountygeorgia.com. All applications should be sent to email@example.com.
