The Fourth Annual Georgia Gravity Games will take place in downtown Douglasville on Saturday , Nov. 4. Sponsored by Google, Georgia Tech and the City of Douglasville, the gravity powered car race is a hands-on way to get young people excited about STEM subjects. New to this year’s Games, Science Street will feature games and activities that provide competitors and spectators with another way to engage with STEM concepts.
Several roads in downtown Douglasville will be temporarily closed to make this day of experiential learning possible. Below are the approved road closures for the 2017 Georgia Gravity Games:
- Church Street between Club Drive and Price Avenue
- Club Drive between Broad Street and Spring Street
- East Courthouse Square between Broad Street and Spring Street
- West Courthouse Square between Broad Street and Church Street
These closures will be in effect from Friday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. to Saturday, Nov. 4. at 5 p.m. During the closure, Broad Street and Spring Street will operate normally, so please access parking from these and any perpendicular streets.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we expect the Gravity Games will be a wonderful event for the residents of Douglasville as it has been in the past. For any further details or concerns on the day of the event, please contact me at 404-808-8972.
